Mr. Cooper, who recently joined Westerman, Hattori, Daniels & Adrian LLP, worked on the legal team representing Pro-Football Inc. in the early stage of the initial REDSKINS cancellation proceeding. He was quoted in a Bloomberg BNA article on July 17th analyzing the decision of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia which affirmed the decision of Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in the second cancellation proceeding challenging the federal registrations of the REDSKINS trademark on the ground that the mark is disparaging of Native Americans. Pro-Football Inc. has announced its intention to appeal that decision.
