Mr. Kinashi has extensive experience in patent law, both in Japan and in the United States. His primary expertise is in metallurgy and semiconductor technologies. This expertise extends to cutting-edge technologies such as new materials.
Mr. Kinashi is active in teaching others about the U.S. patent system and patent practice, having authored several books on U.S. prosecution practice. He is also noted speaker, having made presentations at the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, the Japanese Intellectual Property Association, and Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation.
Prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Kinashi spent nearly 20 years as an examiner and two years as member of the Board of Appeals at the Japan Patent Office.
